Paper marbling and its manufacturer referring to a version from Safavid period Paper marbling is an expression in Iranian scribing which is used in two fields: Painting and Paper making. Paper marbling is a type of septet art of Iranian painting, as Qazi Mir Ahmad says: "As there are 6 principle fonts in calligraphy, in this technique (painting), 7 principles are authentic in this art: Arabesque, Frankish, Fesali, Paper marbling, vaaq, Tie". (Qazi Mir Ahmad, 132) In Iranian painting, paper marbling is to inscribe paintings like wavy clouds which were drawn in horizon or in background. " It's supposed that this style of Iranian painting, is adopted by designs of dishes and vats and the blue and white vases, made of China. The art of miniature is originated from China and gradually has been a subject in Iranian art." ( Zaka, 1374)
